Safety Protocols

While we are creating a program to meet the needs of a changing learning environment we are committed to keeping students, families, and staff safe. The Learning Lab space is divided into two large rooms to ensure proper social distancing and small group sizes. All State and community health mandates will be followed. We have taken steps to ensure there are multiple options for families throughout our community to group students safely and responsibly.

Staff will wear a mask at all times. Students will wear a mask at all times when inside the building. When outside, students will continue to wear masks unless 6 foot distance can be maintained.

Learning and activity spaces will be cleaned between morning and afternoon cohorts and at the end of each day.

Isolation of sick children has been provided for.

Upon check in every morning, staff and students will have their temperatures’ checked to ensure they are below 100.0. They will also be questioned about symptoms & required to wash or sanitize hands before beginning activities.

Parents are asked not to enter the buildings

Cohorts are limited to a maximum of 12 children and will not mix with other cohorts.

Students are encouraged to bring their own computer and school supplies.

In the event that anyone involved in the program experiences symptoms during or within two weeks of completing enrollment at the Learning Lab, they are asked to immediately report potential exposure by emailing sasha@powsci.org. We will notify San Juan Basin Public Health and any potentially exposed families.
